BBC on full cost of sacking Rosenior and breaking £24m contract
Liam Rosenior will get a lot of money from Chelsea after they sacked him, but it won’t be close to the full value of his deal.

Things move quickly at Chelsea, and Liam Rosenior is already deep in the rear view mirror despite only being sacked a week ago.
The contract he signed just four months ago would have entitled him to £24m in wages, although it’s become clear that his payoff won’t be anything close to that.
According to Nizaar Kinsella’s Q and A for the BBC, there was a “break clause” in the coach’s contract that means he will only get a fraction of that full value.
Full cost of Rosenior’s sacking not clear for a year at least
We won’t find out any more until Chelsea publish their next set of accounts, which will have one-off manager dismissal costs laid out pretty clearly, even if they try to hide the full extent of the damage.
Whether it’s £1m or £100m, it was a catastrophically bad decision to appoint Rosenior, and will cost the club a lot more in missed Champions League revenue that it ever would
