Liverpool ‘Confident’ They Can Agree Personal Terms As Blockbuster Summer Transfer Edges One Step Closer

Liverpool believe that finding common ground on the transfer fee with RB Leipzig is the only obstacle remaining to signing Yan Diomande this summer, according to reports.
TEAMtalk claim that the Reds are “confident” of agreeing personal terms with the 19-year-old, having also received assurances that the player is interested in a move to Anfield.
Diomande is said to be “excited” about the prospect of making the switch to Merseyside, which is not a complete surprise.
A few months ago, he revealed that he is a “huge” fan of the club, so there was never any real doubt that he would be open to the transfer.
Liverpool have the edge over other teams
Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also been mentioned as other potential suitors for Diomande.
While you cannot rule out any of these clubs from making their own play, it does seem that Arne Slot’s side have “buy-in” from the player himself, which holds considerable weight.
Of course, the summer transfer window hasn’t even opened it, so the situation could still change, but it looks like they are in the best position to complete a deal.

Leipzig are going to make things difficult
Diomande’s club are sitting 3rd in the Bundesliga table, and they are five points above 5th with four games to go, which means they will very likely secure Champions League qualification.
It means that they are not desperate to sell the winger, and there are even suggestions that they will now increase their initial €100m (£87m) valuation.
You have to believe that some of this is simply posturing as they look to get top dollar for one of their best players, but it does indicate that negotiations for Diomande are going to be very tough.
