Some of the entourage of Marco Silva are working with the Chelsea board to make him the club’s next head coach according to journalist Sebastien Vidal.

Chelsea are once again looking for another head coach following the sacking of Liam Rosenior last month, who lasted less than four months in charge.

Rosenior is the second head coach to leave Stamford Bridge this season following the departure of Enzo Maresca in January.

Calum McFarlane has been placed in interim charge for the remainder of the season, whilst the sporting directors conduct their head coach search.

There’s believed to be seven or eight names under consideration, with Andoni Iraola thought to be an early front runner.

Silva is said to be another name under consideration, and his agent Jorge Mendes is thought to have a good relationship with the Chelsea board.

Sam Allardyce has advised Silva not to take the job, and Vidal has now reported what members of his entourage are doing.

He took to X.com and said:

“Some in the entourage of the Portuguese coach are working with the board to make him the future coach of the Blues.”

Chelsea are unlikely to make an appointment before the end of the season, and David Ornstein thinks a new head coach will be in place early in the summer.
