Daniel Sturridge misheard in awkward Man Utd vs Liverpool moment as he says ‘come on guys’
Ex-Liverpool and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge almost had to watch his words as Roy Keane and Dave Jones misheard what the pundit said when discussing Manchester United and Liverpool

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge left Roy Keane and Sky Sports presenter Dave Jones smirking after they misheard some of his analysis. Discussing Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens’ role in Liverpool’s equalising effort, Sturridge said he ‘shifts it’ as the pair heard a similar-sounding expletive and could not stop smiles appearing on their faces.
An exasperated Sturridge could only say “come on, guys” as he pleaded with his Sky Sports colleagues to regain their composure. Though he was perhaps not quite as frustrated as Lammens after allowing Liverpool back into the game.
There was little room for humour in Keane’s assessment of the goal as Cody Gakpo brought the scores all square as Liverpool fought back before Kobbie Mainoo’s winning goal. The former Manchester United captain did not want to be too harsh on Belgian shotstopper Lammens, however..
“Honestly, just go long,” Keane said when analysing Lammens’ pass out. “What’s the benefit of making that pass? It’s too risky. What defines the players is their decision.
“The goalkeeper has been brilliant, let’s not be too harsh on him, but when you’re under pressure and see Liverpool pressing, just miss them out.”

United’s error came after going 2-0 up in dominant fashion in the opening period. Matheus Cunha opened the scoring, while Benjamin Sesko was awarded a goal in more controversial circumstances.
Dominik Szoboszlai fired back in the 47th minute, before Gakpo capitalised on Lammens’ poor pass. But it was United who had the last laugh following Mainoo’s impressive strike.
United boss Michael Carrick was pleased to see his side’s ability to bounce back. “We have scored a lot of goals. We have scored in pretty much every game,” he said.

“The big fault of ours, if anything, is the out-of-possession work and being hard to play against.
“We tried to put our strengths into the game. We started the game brilliant.
“I am just as pleased at the way we finished the game, after two setbacks quickly, it could’ve knocked us but the character and belief the boys showed was really good. Mistakes happen.”
