Chelsea And Arsenal Are In ‘Regular Contact’ As They Line Up Summer Raid For One Of Fabregas’s Players

Chelsea and Arsenal are both interested in signing Como defender Jacobo Ramon, according to reports.

TEAMtalk claim that the Spaniard, who has been a key player for Cesc Fabregas this season, is attracting the attention of the two London clubs.

However, Real Madrid have a buyback option that they can trigger at the end of the season, and that will complicate any move for Ramon.

With the Spanish giants effectively in control of the centre-back’s future beyond the summer, TEAMtalk report that both Chelsea and Arsenal have been in “regular contact” with Real to discuss his situation.

Ramon is set to return to the Bernabeu

As things stand, the chance of the 21-year-old making the switch to Stamford Bridge this summer are pretty low, with it being widely expected that Real will trigger their clause and re-sign him.

Ramon is not the only Como player who could return to Spain, with his teammate Nico Paz also likely to make the same switch.

The Argentinian international has also been on Chelsea’s radar, but Real don’t seem to be inclined to lose either player.

Are Chelsea targeting any other centre-halves?

The Blues have been linked with several options to strengthen the centre of defence in recent weeks. Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke, Nottingham Forest’s Murillo, AC Milan’s Strahinja Pavlovic and Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio are just a few of the names who have been mentioned as potential targets.

Younger defenders are also being looked at, with reports in Germany suggesting that the club is very interested in Werder Bremen’s Karim Coulibaly.
