Cesc Fabregas continues to be linked with the Chelsea job ahead of the summer and John Terry has now made a prediction about the former Blues midfielder, after sending Fabregas a birthday message.

The front-runners for the Chelsea job are still Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva, and Xabi Alonso. But there are increasing doubts over Chelsea’s ability to lure any of the three to the club come the end of the season.

Sam Allardyce has ordered Silva to ignore a Chelsea move, while Jamie Carragher doesn’t believe Alonso would be tempted by a move to Stamford Bridge because of his time at Liverpool during his playing days.

But Fabregas remains an option after a stunning couple of years in charge at Como. A tenth-placed finish after promotion in his first Serie A season, Como are now in with a real shout of the Champions League.

Chelsea fans want BlueCo to push for Fabregas, and it is easy to see why. He might not have Premier League experience as a manager, but he knows all about the league from his time at Arsenal and Chelsea.

Fabregas turned 39 on Monday, and while wishing him a happy birthday on his Instagram story, Chelsea legend Terry made a prediction about the Spaniard ahead of Chelsea picking their next manager.

Terry believes Fabregas will be “one of the best managers of his generation”, which is quite the claim given that Fabregas remains largely inexperienced. If that is anything to go by, Chelsea must act now.

MESSAGE TO BLUECO: Get Fabregas in and listen to JT! 👊

It just makes sense.

What Fabregas told Eden Hazard about taking the Chelsea job

Hazard has publicly declared that he would love Fabregas in the Chelsea dugout and dreams of watching his old side from the Stamford Bridge stands with his old Chelsea teammate leading from the touchline.

Hazard has even asked Fabregas to take over: “I’ll be honest. We talked over the summer. I told him he’s destined to become one of the best coaches. I explained that it was time to return to Chelsea.

“He joked about it, but I really think so. He loves football, he knows everything. I’m a Chelsea fan, I want the best for the club: that’s why I dream of Cesc on the bench, while I’m in the stands, enjoying the show.”

Fabregas is an exciting young coach. The same could be said for Enzo Maresca and Rosenior, but the difference is, Fabregas has the aura and the standing from his playing career to get players on his side.
