Conor Gallagher has revealed what Roberto De Zerbi has done behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur to change the mood of the Tottenham squad.

De Zerbi had repeatedly reiterated that he believes Tottenham can stay up, even when the club were in an extremely precarious position.

That belief has now filtered through not just to the players, but also the fan base, with two back-to-back wins over Wolves and Aston Villa seeing Spurs move out of the bottom three.

Tottenham delivered a dominant display at Villa Park on Sunday, and there are now clear signs that the Italian is putting his own imprint on the side.

Conor Gallagher shares details of Roberto De Zerbi’s one-on-one meetings with Tottenham players

De Zerbi has revealed that he has used unconventional means to instil confidence into some of his players, including making some of them watch their own individual highlights on YouTube.

Gallagher has now showered praise on the new Tottenham head coach, revealing that he has met with players individually and crediting him for bringing everyone at Hotspur Way together.

The 26-year-old told Football.London: “The gaffer has been brilliant with us. He’s brought the team together. He’s really worked on players individually with one-to-one meetings and one-to-one chats, trying to get that belief and confidence back in the players. He’s done that with me and it’s made a big difference.

“I know he’s done that with a lot of the other lads. As a team as well, all the work he’s done on the training pitch and the meeting rooms, it’s been fantastic and everyone is on the same page.”

De Zerbi and Gallagher are really taking to each other

Soon after walking into Tottenham last month, De Zerbi admitted that he wants to get Gallagher playing as he did for Chelsea a couple of years ago.

The Italian has certainly got his wish, with the Spurs midfielder delivering an outstanding performance against Villa as the most advanced of Tottenham’s midfield three.

Speaking after his side’s 2-1 win on Sunday, De Zerbi admitted that it is like playing with 12 players when Gallagher is at his best.
