Manchester United have decided that a move for the Chelsea star is not a priority for them this summer, according to The Mirror.
While there seemed to be a real prospect of Palmer moving back to Manchester earlier this year, the 24-year-old has done his best to quell rumours, despite discontent among several star players at Chelsea, most notably Enzo Fernandez.
The England man has also not been close to his best form, and United have elected to take a step back from a deal.
Palmer has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €98 million, while his asking price sits at €105m (£90m). On top of this, he has a contract worth €63m (£54.6m) until 2033 at Chelsea, making any move ‘hard to justify financially’ for United.
Ederson to Man Utd?
Manchester United are reportedly “pushing” to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson amid their pursuit of a suitable replacement for Casemiro.
The Red Devils are expected to spend big yet again this summer and they have identified a host of midfield targets as they look to strengthen their options in the middle of the park.
Transfer expert Nicolo Schira has now revealed that Michael Carrick’s side have intensified their bid to bring Ederson to Old Trafford this summer.
He claims that Man Utd are “pushing” to sign the 26-year-old, with the club having prepared a contract offer valid until 2031. It’s reported that Atalanta will demand a fee of €45m to close the deal, which is slightly higher than his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €35.8m.
Ederson has made 39 appearances across all competitions for Atalanta so far this season, but his four-year spell at the club is widely expected to end this summer, with the Serie A outfit willing to sanction a sale in order avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2027.
Liverpool chase Alisson replacement
Liverpool have compiled a shortlist of five goalkeepers they believe are capable of replacing Alisson, who is nearing a move to Juventus.
Alisson has been Liverpool’s regular goalkeeper for almost all of his eight-year spell at Anfield, yet his era appears to be drawing to a close. The Brazilian has agreed a three-year deal with Juventus worth a total of €15 million, and he will leave for the Serie A side if they can reach and agreement with the Premier League champions over a transfer fee.
Arne Slot’s side seem to be preparing for a sale, having drawn up a list of four realistic signings and one internal solution to solve the potential trouble, according to ESPN (via Yahoo).
It’s reported that Lucas Chevalier, Emiliano Martinez, Bart Verbruggen and Bournemouth’s Djordje Petrovic are all on the Reds’ shortlist, alongside Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is already at the club.
Arsenal want Bradley Barcola
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in recent weeks, but it is Bradley Barcola who could actually end up at the Emirates this summer.
The France international is once again becoming the subject of rampant transfer speculation and despite making 45 appearances this season, including 22 starts, the tension between Barcola and PSG has not subsided. On the contrary, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg states that the winger is still not entirely happy, having racked up just short of 2,800 minutes this term.
Consequently, the journalist states that “a summer transfer is possible.” Barcelona, Liverpool and, intriguingly, Arsenal have all been alerted to the possibility that Barcola could be available after this season.
Plettenberg insists that the Gunners, in particular, are showing a very strong interest in the 23-year-old. They have made contact with his camp and are aware of his financial demands.
Tottenham prepare Luka Vuskovic contract
Tottenham are ready to hand Luka Vuskovic a bumper new contract in a bid to fend off interest from Barcelona.
The teenager is represented by superagent Pini Zahavi, who is known to have an exceptionally close relationship with Barcelona and he was recently in Catalunya to negotiate a new contract for Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick.
Naturally, Zahavi has offered Vuskovic to Barcelona. The LaLiga champions-elect are keen on signing the young defender, though it seems unlikely that they will be able to convince Spurs to sell unless the player starts actively agitating for a move.
According to Sky GermanyTottenham are ready to do whatever it takes to keep Vuskovic and build their team around him. One way they hope to achieve this is by handing him a bumper new contract.
Despite being just 19 and having never played a competitive game for the club, Spurs are said to be willing to elevate Vuskovic to one of the club’s top earners with this new contract. He is in line for a “massive” pay rise, according to Florian Plettenberg.
