Frank Lampard speaks on rumours linking him to the Chelsea job

Frank Lampard seemingly refused to rule out a return to Chelsea when asked about the vacant head coach position.

The Blues sacked Liam Rosenior on Wednesday less than four months into a six and a half year deal, with Calum McFarlane placed in interim charge for the remainder of the season.

Rosenior became the second head coach to leave Chelsea this season, after Enzo Maresca walked out in January.

Chelsea are once again looking for another head coach, and it’s been reported there are seven or eight names under consideration.

Andoni Iraola is believed to be the early front-runner, whilst Chelsea are said to have admiration for Cesc Fabregas.

Lampard, who’s had to previous spells in charge of the club, as well as being a legend as a player is a name mentioned by fans.

The 47-year-old has guided Coventry back to the Premier League after winning the Championship this season, and he was asked about the vacant Chelsea job.

“I’d like to think Coventry fans would just be enjoying where we are, the world of management, lots are out of control, you just control your work,” he said as quoted on X.com.

“At the minute I think we should just enjoy where we are, we’ve had an amazing season and I am really proud and pleased to be part of it, I enjoy what I’m doing here, I can’t control who worries or not.”

“Chelsea is a big part of my life and at the moment that’s their business and my business is here.”
