Tottenham face fresh £85.3m headache in race to sign Eli Junior Kroupi
Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Eli Junior Kroupi continues to get progressively more difficult as we approach the final month of the summer transfer window.
Roberto De Zerbi has asserted that Spurs will pursue their top attacking targets in the remaining weeks of the transfer window, rather than settling for names further down their wishlist.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that the Lilywhites are prepared to spend big on Kroupi after identifying the Frenchman as their top striker target.
Sources have indicated that the 19-year-old has signalled a willingness to move to Spurs, but it has also been widely reported that Bournemouth are fighting hard to keep the Tottenham target.

It has now been revealed by Sport that Barcelona have reignited their interest in the Cherries star after exploring a move for him earlier in the window.
Kroupi’s name is one of the options on the Catalan club’s wishlist as they look to add a top-class number nine to their squad.
The report explains that Barca are finding their pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez to be ‘highly complicated’ as Diego Simeone’s side are refusing to even negotiate for the Argentine.
As a result, Barca’s sporting director Deco is revisiting the possibility of signing the French U21 international as he looks to hand Hansi Flick a successor to Robert Lewandowski.
Bournemouth maintain hardline stance on Kroupi transfer
Sport say that Barca will face plenty of competition for the teenager forward, but interestingly, they do not name Tottenham Hotspur as an interested party.
They state that Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City have all ‘come calling’ for Kroupi this summer after his outstanding first season at the Vitality Stadium.
However, the website says that the Cherries’ director of football operations, Tiago Pinto, views the forward as a ‘cornerstone’ of the club’s project.
Bournemouth have thus made it clear that Kroupi is not for sale this summer, not even for €100m (£85.3m).
